The Butcher's Block began building its reputation 37 years ago for incomparable steaks.  Stan McGowan founded the Butcher’s Block when he came to Sarasota in 1968.  Since then, he has been joined by his son, Scott, to deliver 5 generations of family experience and expertise in the meat business. That unrivaled reputation continues today, as we offer only beef from premier mid-western corn-fed stock. Each piece is naturally aged for 21-30 days, expertly cut, and hand trimmed.
